The Boston Teacher Residency was featured on NPR this morning. The piece highlights many strengths of the residency model. Claudio Sanchez’s concluding point is “But if the teacher residency training model proves it’s helping raise student performance and test scores, the question at that point will be: Can this model work elsewhere and should it become the standard for training all new teachers?” Clearly there is belief that the model can work as there have been streams of federal funding supporting residency programs. UTRU is supporting this work and anticipating the results on teacher effectiveness.
Update: National Journal has some interest responses to the NPR piece.
