A Harvard study on the effectiveness of the Boston Teacher Residency (BTR) in its early years (2006-2010) shows that, while initially less effective than their peers, BTR graduates outpace their fellow teachers by years four and five. Additionally, BTR has been successful at recruiting ethnically diverse teachers for the Boston Public Schools, and their graduates have significantly higher retention rates than the district average. Read more about the study in this Education Week article, which includes a quote from UTRU Executive Director, Anissa Listak.
