Education Sector Reports on the Collapse of Pittsburgh’s Teacher Residency

Friday March 16, 2012

Education Sector published an analysis this week of the collapse of Pittsburgh’s teacher residency program. Pittsburgh Public Schools was working with UTRU to build the program, but a myriad of factors, including budget cuts and the loss of union support, caused the program’s demise just three weeks before residents were due to start. Education Sector’s analysis provides some interesting insight to the political and economic environments in which many residencies live. UTRU’s Christine Brennan is quoted in the report.
