Interesting teacher preparation done through Match Corps, which is based in Boston. Jay Matthew blogged on this recently. Through Match Corps, teachers are trained through deliberate practice (which involves being specific and technique-oriented, high-repetition, and paired with immediate feedback). Participants through this program provide all-day tutoring to students at Match Charter High School.
Some parallels to the residency model here, but missing the master’s level coursework that is able to align theory with the practice. Thoughts on the Match Corps approach?
