More about Boettcher Teachers Program

The Boettcher Teachers Program, located in Metro Denver, is a dual licensure and master’s degree fellowship designed to prepare a highly skilled workforce of professional educators who make a difference in the individual lives of low-income students and communities and the schools that serve them. Established in 2003, the Boettcher Teachers Program represents a collaboration among the following partners: Boettcher Foundation, Public Education & Business Coalition, University of Denver College of Education, Adams 12 Five Star Schools, and Mapleton Public Schools. The mission of the Boettcher Teachers Program is to prepare and support exceptional teachers for urban students and schools. This challenging and intense program, funded by the Boettcher Foundation and in its seventh year of operation, combines the best-known research and practices for teacher recruitment, preparation, induction and support in high-needs schools. It includes a yearlong classroom teaching residency with a mentor, ongoing master’s-level coursework, and mentoring and coaching support. The Boettcher Teachers Program creates a powerful model of professional learning that benefits students, teachers, partner schools/districts/communities and the partner agencies.

Boettcher Teachers Program is a founding network partner and helped define the Residency for Residencies Program. As a founding network partner, Boettcher Teachers Program contributes important learnings and other support to emerging partner programs.
